Knights Corner

Last week we had the privilege to welcome 3 brothers to our council. Zachary Moore and Keenan Hays had their exemplification last Sunday, and Dan Evans transferred into our council. We are thrilled to have all three of you and are so thankful for your commitment to your faith, family and this parish community. Thank you to everyone who volunteered last week for the MI drive and to all those who contributed. The MI (or Tootsie Roll) drive is what the Knights call a “Life” program as through our support of the Special Olympics and those with disabilities in our community it shows our respect for life and support for the dignity of all. I think we should take great pride in our Catholic faith, our parish, and our order for what we do in support of life. One of the criticisms the pro-life movement in general faces is that there is a lot of passion around protecting the unborn child, but no concern or support for the child after. If one thinks about all the amazing initiatives and groups we have active in our parish community alone, not to mention at the diocese level we can confidently say that is not true and we put our “money where our mouth is”. Or better yet our time and effort where our heart is.
